But what does this mean for existing iPhone users? If you have an older iPhone that doesn't support eSIM, you can still add data packages to it. Here's how.

If you want to add a second line to an iPhone, you'll need to go through your mobile carrier. Most carriers will provide you with a QR code that you can scan using your camera.
Traditionally, this has been done via a physical SIM card, but with the introduction of eSIM technology, it's become easier and cheaper to set up a second cellular line on your phone.
You can get an eSIM from just about any mobile carrier in the world, including many in North America. Once you have your eSIM, it's easy to set up a second line on your iPhone.

They also held parades as a way to advertise their services and to honor members who had died. Today, second lines have grown to include a variety of events and are a part of the city's culture.
Adding a Data Line
A data line is a circuit, or set of wires, that carries audio or video data. This type of circuit may be a single or multi-channel, and it may carry data in real time or at a much slower rate. A data line is usually associated with a high-speed network, such as a cellular phone or Internet connection.
The best way to add a data line to your iPhone is by acquiring an eSIM. This is the most integrated and most secure method of adding a second phone number to your device. To do this you need to open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to Cellular plans. There you will see a few options for a new line including the standard eSim, an add-on eSIM, and a virtual eSim. You will also notice the new line has a new label and a new icon on your Home screen. The eSim icon stands out for being the most colorful and the only one that has a line indicator and a signal strength icon.
Adding a Voice Line
T-Mobile is currently running a promo where customers can add a free voice line with two or more paid lines on a qualifying plan. As long as you’re an active customer and have been a postpaid subscriber for at least 12 months, you can get this offer.
A second line can be a handy way to keep incoming calls from distracting you while you’re working on a project, or to use your iPhone as a business line while traveling. However, if you don’t need that second line at all, you can disable it on your iPhone with a quick trip to Settings.
You can also choose which line you want to use for outgoing calls and text messages by tapping the Default Voice Line option. This will be your primary line for both voice and data. If you turn on Wi-Fi calling for this line, incoming calls will switch to that line when they’re connected to your iPhone over Wi-Fi; you’ll also get a small icon in the status bar showing which line is active.
Adding a Test Line
The Iphone may not be the best phone in the world, but it is still a great way to communicate with your loved ones. Its new respond with text feature is just one of many handy features that make it the ideal companion to your old reliable landline.
Another cool tidbit for your iPhone is the ability to add a test line to your home screen. This feature isn't available on older versions of the phone, but you can get it on your current model by heading to Settings > General > Cellular and selecting the Add an additional line option. The line will then be tagged in the control center and can be used to make calls on the go. This can also be a handy feature for those of you with older relatives who are just not ready for their smartphones on a regular basis. The Iphone also has an optical sensor that detects faint lines and will show them on your lock screen.
